At DDP, we use two distinct methods of digital printing.

DIRECT DIGITAL PRINTING: Entails printing files directly onto pre-treated fabric. The process involves coating the fabric, printing, steaming to set the dye, and washing the fabric to remove the coating and excess dye. The end result is a washable, colour-fast print. This method is used for natural fibre fabrics and nylon.

SUBLIMATION PRINTING: Involves printing files onto paper first, and then transferring the design onto fabric using a heat press. It is slightly different to direct printing – the process is still digital, but it is not direct. There is no coating needed, and does not require any further post-treatment after heat-pressing. We use this method for polyester, polyester/lycra blends, and elastane.
